Skin Rejuvenation Q & A

What is skin rejuvenation?

Skin rejuvenation is a treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to tighten and revitalize your facial skin. At The Family Docs, the TempSure EnviⓇ system is the preferred platform for facial skin rejuvenation.

The process is noninvasive and requires no advance preparation, anesthesia, or recovery time. Sessions are pain-free and can even be relaxing. As the treatment handpiece moves across the surface of your skin, radiofrequency energy penetrates into the deeper layers of skin and creates carefully controlled heat.

That heat prompts your body’s innate healing response. New collagen fibers are created, which smooth and plump your skin. Treatments can erase fine lines and wrinkles and deliver an overall lifting and smoothing effect.

What is vaginal revitalization?

Vaginal revitalization is a nonsurgical treatment that reverses unwanted changes to your vaginal tissues. Treatments rely on radiofrequency energy to gently heat the tissues in your vaginal walls and labia.

Even though the heat never reaches a level at which you feel discomfort, it’s enough to stimulate your healing function. Your body begins to manufacture new elastin and collagen, which thickens and tightens your vaginal walls, restores proper vaginal moisture, and shrinks external labia tissues.

Treatments take little time, and there’s no need for any form of anesthesia. You’ll need to refrain from sex for a few days after each session, but you can resume other normal activities immediately after your visit. It may take a series of sessions to achieve optimal results, but Dr. Cedeno can discuss your treatment plan in detail after your initial visit.

What are skin tags, and what can be done to treat them?

Skin tags are noncancerous growths that develop on your armpits, eyelids, thighs, neck, beneath your breasts, or near your groin. They are usually the same color as the rest of your skin, and look like small bits of skin connected to your body by a thin stalk.

Although skin tags are harmless, they can present an aesthetic challenge. Fortunately, there are treatments that can help. Dr. Cedeno can remove these skin abnormalities using liquid nitrogen, electrical current, surgical thread, or a scalpel. She discusses the best approach with you in detail before beginning treatment.
